Vitamin D
Vitamin D is produced by the body when we are exposed to sunlight. We may only need a few minutes in the sun everyday to receive or daily supply, but this isn't possible for everyone and especially during the winter months.
Vitamin D (also known as Calciferol) is essential for healthy bones, as well as teeth, and is also thought to be important for a healthy immune system.
Deficiency
Vitamin D deficiency can cause Osteomalacia or Rickets in children.
