Parasol LogoParasol 15 is a unique silicone based lotion specially formulated for skin that tans easily. Thanks to its extreme durability to water and perspiration, it is ideal for use when swimming.

Parasol UVA/UVB filters provide 15 times more natural protection against UVB rays as well as helping to protect against sunburn and long term UVA induced skin damage, while still allowing tanning.

An Active Anti Ageing System including herbal extracts may help reinforce the skin's natural UV rays defences against fine lines and wrinkles and neutralises cell damaging free radicals.

Parasol is enriched with moisturisers to help prevent peeling and to leave your skin silky smooth. And because it doesn't leave sticky residue, it is ideal for sandy beaches.

To avoid sunburn follow these directions for use:

  1. Always patch test 2 to 3 days before use (for sensitivity). Do not continue using if you get a rash.
  2. Apply Parasol 30 minutes before sun exposure to all areas of the body, remembering to pay particular attention to the face, nose, shins and shoulders, as these areas are particularly suscepitible to burning.
  3. Allow parasol to dry completely before sitting, lying down or putting on clothing.
  4. For children and adults who are continously in and out of the water a second application in the afternoon will give extra peace of mind.
  5. Anyone taking medication should consult their doctor as some medicines can cause light hypersensitivity reactions that cannot be prevented by using a sunfilter.
  6. Avoid contact with eyes. If Parasol enters the eyes rinse with tepid water. If irritation persists seek medical advise.
  7. Do not put moisturiser on before applying Parasol and avoid using shampoos or shower gels containing silicone or any barrier ingredient.
  8. Do not towel dry until finished sunbathing.
  9. Insect repellent contained in Parasol is for day time protection only in non tropical climates.
  10. If in doubt seek medicial advise.

To be safe in the sun, avoid sunburn, dehydration and heat stroke, follow these instructions:

  • Select the appropriate SPF for your skin type.
  • Do not be over enthusiastic at the beginning of sun bathing.
  • Tan gradually.
  • Between 11.00am and 3.00pm always avoid direct sunlight, sit in the shade where it's cooler and wear a long sleeved shirt or a t-shirt and a wide brimmed hat.
  • Keep children under 3 years out of direct sunlight.
  • Always remember to drink plenty of water.  You may also need extra salt in very hot weather.

Remember you can still burn:

  • When its cloudy.
  • Even if it doesn't feel very hot.
  • When it's windy or breezy.
  • When you are in the water, in a swimming pool or in the sea.
  • In the shade if sun is reflected off snow or water.
  • If you don't go abroad - even in the UK and Ireland people need to take care.

The right protection:

Young children, especially under three years, should not be exposed to direct sunlight and care should be taken with children playing in the water, as water reflects sunlight increasing the risk of sunburn.

It is essential that you select the right protection product to protect you skin from the sun's ultra violet rays.

There are two sunrays that can cause damage to your skin - UVA and UVB - and which are attributed to sunburn and premature ageing.

When you are selecting your sun protection product it is important that you choose the right sun protection factor number (SPF) for your skin type.

A SPF is a measurement of the UVB rays and identifies the sun protection time.  To calculate your safe sun tanning time simply multiply your own natural protection time by the SPF number.

For example if your skin burns after approximately 15 minutes exposure to the sun without a sun protection product then multiply this time by the SPF.

15 minutes x product with SPF 10 = 150 minutes of protection.
